Joyce E. Newcomb, Ph.D., R.N., C, LMHC, LMFT

Joyce Newcomb is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Registered Nurse in Florida and New York. She is a Certified Psychiatric Nurse Clinician and Board Certified Medical Psychotherapist. She completed a two-year post-doctorate in neuropsychology at The Fielding Institute in February 1998. Dr. Newcomb is currently in private practice with Dr. Waden E. Emery, III. She is a published author who has spoken before national and international audiences about near-death experiences, transpersonal nursing, and chemical dependency among nurses.

Dr. Newcomb is listed in the inaugural (1984) and subsequent editions of “Who’s Who In American Nursing.” She is also listed in “Who’s Who in the South and Southwest,” (1986-1995); “Who’s Who Among American Women,” (1989-1995); “Who’s Who Among Human Service Professionals,” (1986-1996); “Who’s Who in America,” (1997), “Who’s Who In Science and Engineering, (1997), “World Who’s Who of Women, Fifteenth Edition,” and “2000 Notable American Women,” (1995-2002). She was nominated as an “Outstanding Nurse Clinician” at the Florida Nurses’ Association’s First Annual Convention for Outstanding Nurse Clinicians in March 1988 because of her work with chemically impaired nurses.
